On May 31, I was pleased to celebrate the grand opening of the newly expanded Charlotte Birchard Centres of Early Learning – Children’s Centre. The Government of Ontario invested $1 million to add a second story to the facility,meaning more children in our community can benefit from the extraordinary services the Children's Centre provides. Congratulations! It may be a few weeks until school is out for the summer, but many low-income families in Ottawa are already wondering how they will afford school essentials for this September. During Kindness Week in February, my office launched a school supply drive to help collect items for the Caring and Sharing Exchange’s Sharing in Student Success Program. On May 31, we delivered the supplies, helping to get the ball rolling on this year's campaign. Extemely proud that Toby's Act (Bill 33) received Royal Assent today and is now the law!
