These individuals must act quickly to relocate to a safe location such as an emergency shelter, the home of a trusted family member or friend, or a new residence. Victims are often forced to flee with little or no notice – they must capitalize on a window of opportunity and leave immediately, sometimes without personal possessions or alternative living arrangements.
