New Highway Signs Direct Visitors to Little Italy and Chinatown
 Yasir and Jim Watson celebrate the new destination signs with Little Italy and Chinatown.

After years of waiting, Highway 417 and Highway 416 now have directional signs that tell motorists and visitors how to find their way to Ottawa’s Little Italy and Chinatown communities. These signs are located on:

Highway 417

  • eastbound and westbound at Bronson Avenue;
  • eastbound at the Carp Road on-ramp;
  • eastbound at Rochester Street, and
  • westbound at the Anderson Road on-ramp.

Highway 416

  • northbound, just south of Hunt Club Road.

This initiative is in conjunction with the signing program administered by the City of Ottawa. The Ministry of Transportation has partnered with the City of Ottawa, the Preston Street BIA and Somerset Street Chinatown BIA to have these signs installed.

These signs will improve tourism in our community by directing more visitors to Little Italy and Chinatown everyday.
