Women and Girls Making a Difference in Our Community
MPP Naqvi Recognizes Leading Women and Girls
It was my honour to host the Leading Women/Leading Girls, Building Communities Award Ceremony on April 10 to recognize 28 amazing women in our community.
A few short months ago, I put out a request for nominations of exceptional women and girls who were making a difference in our community. I was amazed at the response! The community rallied together and worked hard to nominate their peers and neighbours who have worked so hard to make the world a better place for everyone.
We received a range of inspiring stories – from girls raising money for students in developing countries, to women acting as mentors, and important programs to build self-esteem in young women. Each recipient was unique and deserving – leaving her mark on our world. I would like to congratulate our recipients, and to thank them for making our community a better place for everyone:
